Every Monday: 'Drop-in' for coffee in the Lady Chapel 9.00 am to 11.30 am. Got that 'Monday morning' feeling? Need a place to sit and be or have a chat? You will be guaranteed a warm welcome - and the chance to enjoy some excellent coffee and biscuits.
Every Friday: The church will be open every Friday (except on Bank Holidays) from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm. All are welcome to drop in to enjoy some quiet time, to pray for issues that might be on your mind, to light a candle, to say thank you to God for his blessings, to stroll round and admire the medieval architecture, or to find out something about the history of Gillingham's oldest building. YOU'LL EVEN BE OFFERED A COMPLEMENTARY CUP OF TEA OR COFFEE! We are opening the church in this way in gratitude for the generous assistance we received from English Heritage and the National Churches Trust towards the works that were carried out to the Church roof and tower. (Please support both these organisations to enable them to continue giving financial support to other churches.) Further details can be found by visiting their websites: www.english-heritage.org.uk and www.nationalchurchestrust.org)
Thursday 28 September: The latest in our series of Film Afternoons will take place today, starting at 2.00pm (doors open at 1.30pm). The film will be Pride And Prejudice which is based on the 1813 book by Jane Austen and starring Keira Knightley, Matthew Macfadyen, Brenda Blethyn and Donald Sutherland. Entry is FREE and light refreshments will be served.
Saturday 25 November: We will be holding our annual CHRISTMAS FAYRE in the Church from 11.00am to 2.00pm. Admission is FREE! There will be plenty of stalls selling lots of goodies, including bric-a-brac, toys, cakes, plants, crafts, jams and chutneys, etc. There will be games and a tombola stall. Our Grand Draw has a top prize of £50 and tickets are available now and on the day. The children can enjoy a magical visit to see Father Christmas and, if you wish to relax in the atmosphere of our historic and beautiful church, there will be Sacred Space. All monies raised will help to ensure the continued mission and ministry of St. Mary Magdalene Church. Please put the date in your diary now!
